Excellent, congrats to both of you !

After taking the exam, do you feel that the sbs course provided much information towards the exam ?

I'm still trying to juggle finding a test center and a date I can fit it in on and finding a replacement car at the same time !

Hi Ed, we both passed :-)

I did got 858 and was weak on SharePoint / maintaining collaboration, and maintaining users & computers - some silly errors like just not getting my head around that in 2008 you can mail enable a security group!

George got 982 and was uncontrollably smug before we'd even got out of the testing centre... got him completely hammered later though! ;-)

Hi,
I was facing the same issue installing X64 Bit Windows Server 2008 on my Q6600 Core 2 Quad system with Intel supported mother board. Host Machine showed it just enabled fine but the GUEST shoed the same prompt while trying to install.
I used the command
start /w ocsetup Microsoft-Hyper-V
and it seems to be working. M<y machine has rebooted to configure it and feature install is 42 % complete..Crossed fingers here :)

Thank You

Great post.

I wish I had read this before I deployed our Hyper-V Cluster using the 2008 R2 RC build. All our servers are using the new Shared Storage feature of 2008 R2 to enable live migration so once we destroy the cluster this will become unavailable so im kind of stuck as to how to get the VM's upgraded to RTM.

I have a fun weekend ahead of me i'm sure :)

When configuring DNS in ServerCore the index parameter gives a syntax error and is not recognized. Has this been removed or replaced with another parameter such as the register=primary parameter?

netsh interface ipv4 add dnsserver name=”Local Area Connection” address=%4 index=1

Hi Reuben,

Do you by chance use VPN software on your T61? I've heard that Cisco absolutely doesn't support 64-bit Windows OS'es! How ridiculous that is...
